Starts Are Always Sloppy

I was in writing class today and the teacher was talking about journals and how it's good to write in one and blah blah blah. I figured he was just going to go off on some random rant about it. But then he actually said something that I really needed to hear today.

He said that starts are always sloppy. When you think that you are going to do something and you envision this perfect organized end product you get frustrated when you don't know how to start it.

I am frustrated. Well, I was.

I've tried to keep up with two different blogs now and neither of them seemed to stick. I made promises I knew I couldn't keep at the time, I don't why I made them. But now with this, I'm not going to make any promises. But I am going to keep this quote, that my teacher wrote up on the board as a prompt for our journals, in mind.

"There are two mistakes one can make along the road to truth... not going all the way, and not starting."
     ~Buddha

I am starting. Right here, right now. And I am going to go all the way, I will not just give up. Yes, it's the third of the year. And that is exactly why beginnings are not perfect.
